Joseph DeRosa earned his master's in music education from Eastern Washington University, and he earned his teaching creditals from Rutgers University. His main instruments are clarinet and saxophone, and he also teaches general and vocal music as his day job. In 2015, Joseph won the John Philip Sousa band award from the Westfield High School Bands program. In addition, Joseph performed in the 2018 and 2019 Pennsylvania Intercollegiate Band while getting his B.A, which brings the “best of the best” college-level musicians from all around the state of Pennsylvania. Today Joseph is a performer in the New Jersey Intergenerational Orchestra, the Westfield Musical Club, Maplewood Community Band, he performs in gigs, and he gives private instrument lessons throughout Union County.
